Say "SI" to Italian Sauvignon Blanc

Crisp and scrummy, nothing beats a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc with a platter of summer fruits or sipped along with an alfresco meal. There is a bit of an auto-pilot factor when choosing Sauvignon Blanc; we are often told to head to the New Zealand section of a wine shop when it comes to picking up a bottle. Known for distinctive flavours of peach, grassy greens and strong aromas, customers have learned what they are going to get with a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

But Sauvignon Blanc grows well in many other countries, particularly in regions where the night air blows cool. Northeast Italy produces some very refreshing Sauvignon Blancs. Our kegged Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect example - fresh, floral and aromatic, it is a delectable addition to seafood dishes or simply to have on its own. It is easy for customers to fall into old buying habits, but with wine, you have to remember to be adventurous and to explore different producers. It has been said that trying out different wines is like travelling from your wine glass. Delve your nose into your glass and inhale the herbacious aromas. This region of Italy produces a Sauvignon which is more comparable to Loire Valley flavours than New World gooseberry sharpness.

So say ‘si’ to an Italian Sauvignon Blanc, we promise you’ll get that same summer zing that goes so well with al fresco dishes.
